In the town of Iga, the strongest ninja of every generation receives the title of Shadow, responsible for the most dangerous and difficult missions, protecting the town of Iga day in and day out, all without the knowledge of its inhabitants. At present, the freshly-anointed Shadow of Iga, Hayabusa, has been transported to the Land of Dawn to carry out the most dangerous and difficult of missions: find and kill the previous generation’s Shadow who betrayed and killed his friend, the one who was once lauded as the greatest ninja Iga had seen in centuries.
Hayabusa is best in taking out carry and killing them instantly. His damage is all about stacking and crowd control which you really need to exterminate squishy marksman and spell caster without giving them a chance to fight back. He has also incredible gap closer with his ultimate that makes your target helpless take all your attacks. Hayabusa is very rewarding hero especially if you love playing assassin based hero such as Natalia. And for you to play him effectively you can read our item build and strategy guide for Hayabusa.
+Good Gap Closer skill
-Needs to get stacks /hit same target multiple times
-Poor Late game
Ninjutsu: Shadow Heal – After dealing ability damage on the same target for 4 times, Hayabusa’s Hp will restore. The lower his Hp is, the more it will restore. (passive)
Phantom Shuriken – Throws out three shurikens in a fan-shaped area in front of him. Each shuriken deals 270 physical damage to the enemy it hits and lowers movement speed by 50%. The same enemy can take up to 200% damage. If 3 shurikens all hit the same hero, then Hayabusa will regen 50% of his spent mana.
Quad Shadow – Releases four phantoms of himself in 4 directions. When a phantom encounters an enemy hero, it will cause a 50% slow down effect, deal 130 physical damage, and burrow itself into the enemy’s body. The next use of this ability will move Hayabusa to the phantom’s location, and if directed towards a phantom inside of an enemy, it will deal an additional 130 physical damage to the enemy.
Ougi: Shadow Kill – Turns into a shadow and dashes around the battlefield, dealing multiple hits of damage to enemies within a certain area. Each attack deals 160 physical damage. Damage will increase 5% per hit for multiple hits in a row on the same hero. One of the best skill in game that Hayabusa has. Most players are picking this hero because of his ultimate.
Tooth of Greed – +75 Physical Attack / 25% Lifesteal / Frenzy : When HP drops below 20%, the hero will receive an extra 10% physical lifesteal. Good for lane sustain because of 25% lifesteal. The passive comes tricky against your opponent in trades. So if you are going to fight, fight it till the end because upon reaching below 20% for your HP, your lifesteal will increase by 10%.
Swift Boots – 15% attack speed / +40 movement speed.
Blade of Destruction – +75 Physical Attack / 20% Critical Strike Chance / 50% Critical Damage / Doom : Critical strikes will increase on’e physical attack by 5% lasting 2 seconds. This will gives you a powerspike from critical damage and physical attack.
Scarlet Phantom – +30 Physical attack / +40% attack speed / +10% Critical Strike Chance / Frenzy : Critical strikes will increase the hero’s attack speedy by 35% and critical strike rate to 10% that lasts for 2 seconds.
Blade of Despair – +130 Physical Attack / +25% attack speed / 10% Critical Strike chance / Despair : deals an extra 15% damage to an enemy in abnormal state (stunned, knocked airborne, transformed, disabled). This works with his skills that apply crowd control.
Wind Chaser – +60 Physical Attack / +45% Physical Penetration. Get it if against tank.
Immortality – +800 Hp / +40 magic resistance / Rebirth : resurrect in 2 seconds after dying and get 15% HP and a shield that can absorb damage equal to 40% max HP. Shield last for 3 seconds. 180 seconds cooldown.
Early game in laning is not difficult for you to dominate because of your passive. All you have to do is to hit the same target 4 times to activate the heal. The tricks here is to not go a full-in or trades more than 4 hits. You need to take down your target little by little until you can kill it with your all-in together with your ultimate.
For teamfight, you have only one task, assassinate the carry no matter what. Don’t be tempted to aim for disable enemies but to assassinate the carry. This will make the enemy carry ineffective as he has two choices to do with you. First is to die trading with you, or to run and get zoned out. Either of the two, it will gives a big downside in team fight and you can win the game with it.
For the important mechanics of playing Hayabusa, you need to finish the game as early as possible since he doesn’t snowball well in late game. Even you are well fed but once the game exceeds more than 20 minutes, the enemy carry will just stand and kill you in trades. Hayabusa is a good assassin but I can’t deny the fact that his damage can get outclass by marksman in late game. Hayabusa is a good burst but he is also squishy and the fact is he needs to get closer to burst down his target. So if your target can stand on your trades that will be the end of you. So if you have a chance to end the game in less than 10 minutes, go for it and that is how you should play Hayabusa.
